Film is perhaps the most important component part of the FIM process, forming the basic susbstrate on which all other aspects of the technology depend.
The film forms a tough protective skin over the complete surface of the part, offering high levels of surface hardness, to resist surface abrasion, scratching and possible exposure to solvents and cleaning fluids.
In addition, the latest films withstand yellowing, which normally results from prolonged exposure to sunlight, have high levels of transparency, so that backlighting can easily be incorporated, and are available with embossed or textured surface finishes.
