The screen printing inks used in the Film Insert Moulding (FIM) process are based on conventional materials, from leading suppliers, but must be carefully specified to ensure that they work with the post printing stages of thermoforming and injection moulding.

In particular, the screen inks used must resist changes in temperature and be sufficiently flexible to expand as film substrates are formed to the required shape.
